Possibly the biggest cliché of Mummyhood, but doesn’t it go fast!! Almost 14 months has flown by, and I can’t believe I return to work tomorrow and little Henry is off to begin his new adventures at nursery.
As sad as I feel about leaving him, it is only because I know someone else will be having all the fun with him, not because I am worried about leaving him. It seems like he is getting to be so much more fun these days. He plays so nicely now, discovering more each day with toys which he once just whacked about the place. His routine is predictable and works really well around our days. But, I know how much he is going to benefit from the wealth of experiences he will gain from nursery, meeting new little buddies and learning all his skills for when he starts at school.
Going back to work wasn’t particularly in our plan when we had Henry, but for now it works for us, so we will see how it goes and how Henners gets on and re-assess if need be. I actually feel ok about it at the moment, but I know I am going to look forward to and cherish my 3 days a week with my little buddy so much.
First day at nursery!
Have you recently been back to work after maternity leave? How did you find it? I’d love to hear from you.
Better get my new pencil-case packed 😉
