Bathroom design trends 2018*

One of my least favourite rooms in our house is the bathroom. It’s functional sure, but it lacks any kind of style and certainly doesn’t tempt me in to wallow for hours relaxing in our bath. With Christmas over and our bathroom cupboards fully stocked with bath bombs and various fancy lotions it got me thinking about what my ideal bathroom would look like.

So I’ve teamed up with SuperBath this week to have a look at the bathroom design trends for 2018 and they are giving me all kinds of envy!!

Bringing the outdoors indoor.

House plants are finding their way into every room in the house in 2018, and the bathroom is no exception. An easy way to add colour and a burst of life indoors, potted plants are a hot millennial trend not to be missed. Due to the naturally present humidity the bathroom is a great place for these earthly additions. To take advantage of the humidity the house plants most suited for the bathroom are orchids, ferns and grass lily.

Alternatively, a different great way to add a more natural feel to your bathroom is with wooden furniture. The brand Villeroy and Boch offer many different furniture options for this, but my favourite is the True Oak vanity unit shown above which not only looks so stylish but it’s so functional by including so much storage space.

Luxury in the bathroom.

If you are looking to invest a little more time and money into redecorating your bathroom to become super luxurious then there are two options you could consider. Depending on if you’re shower or bath person you could include either a rain shower or a freestanding bath, or both if you are lucky to have enough space! Both Grohe and Hansgrohe showers are perfectly luxurious additions to any bathroom, with their rain showers providing the ultimate luxury experience (I always get so excited when I see these in hotels!)

Bathroom design trends 2018 tiles and colourful tiles

Tile, tile on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

I love the idea of bringing the beautiful streets of Lisbon into my home by tiling on the floors or wall in the bathroom like these beautiful coloured tiles. Printed tiles are set to be big in 2018 and with cute designs like this it is easy to see why; my favourite is the classic blue and white combination. If you are not feeling the prints, then maybe you’d prefer this gorgeous monochrome dream combo! I love how easy tiles are to clean and they add so much style and personality to this space.

I’d love to hear what you think of these bathroom trends of 2018– are any of these ideas something you’ve used in your bathroom? I’ve already moved a plant in to ours!
