If you had asked me a couple of years ago if a Micro Scooter was really worth the price I would have probably said no, something along the lines of, why would you spend so much money on a scooter when you can pick one up in Argos for less than 20 quid!?! Fast forward to life with a 4 year old who is in possession of said Micro Scooter and I can now honestly say I think yes, they are worth the price.

Is a micro scooter really worth the price? why not buy a cheap scooter?

Now as the proud mother-owner of several aforementioned “cheaper scooters” I feel quite equipped to qualify my answer of whether a Micro Scooter is really worth the money.  Firstly, I want to mention that my eldest son got a Micro Scooter for his 4th Birthday and was quickly enamoured with the multitude of accessories which came with it. Especially so with the cool dino-helmet and LED light up spinning wheel caps – probably not advised for those who suffer with light sensitivity – seriously, it’s like a mini rave each time I open up the under stairs cupboard.

In my honest opinion, I can’t truly say I would recommend buying a Micro Scooter for a younger child – certainly not this one at least. George is 2 and he, as with everything, has Henry’s hand me downs as well as a new Finding Dory scooter which he got from my lovely friend Carly for his 2nd Birthday. I think for that age, they just aren’t going to enjoy the benefits of the much superior build quality of the Micro Scooters. However, they do have a Mini 2 Go scooter for 18m+ which has a seat and one which has a removeable storage drawer and a push along handle, all of which adapt to your child as they grow, which is the one I would go for, if we were going to get one for George.

The choice on the MS website is pretty overwhelming; Mini, Maxi, 2 wheeled, seated…the list goes on…but they are all sorted into categories and I found that the customer services support was really helpful in choosing the correct scooter for Henry’s abilities. They also have a great blog section on the website which will help you choose the right scooter for what you need.

I thought I would note a few points as to why I am a scooter convert, for anyone else wondering if they are worth the extra money.

  • Lean to steer method – older children will find this method much easier once they get used to it – it also helps develop motor skills and build coordination.
  • Rear brake – none of the cheaper scooters we’ve had have had a brake, which seems odd now that this one does – Henry has got used to it quickly and it makes for a much safer riding experience.
  • Replacement parts – this really sets Micro Scooter apart from other scooters – each part is replaceable and easy to fix.
  • Lightweight yet sturdy frame – the build quality is obvious as soon as you touch this scooter, it feels such good quality and remains lightweight for little people to carry – or let’s be honest, us parents as I’m sure you’ll all have witnessed.
  • Puncture free solid wheels – because nobody wants a hole punch to deal with!

We chose the Maxi scooter for Henry and it was so so easy to set up and once we ensured Henry’s outfit was suitably coordinated to his new ride we let him out to give it a go! 😉 Just look at that little concentration face!

And how do all scooter rides end??? You know the drill… #mumlife

Introducing New Pampers Baby-Dry

Did you know that babies spend around half their time asleep? Those precious hours aren’t just important for their mood, but they also have a positive impact on their development, too! Both my boys have been terrible sleepers, and I always used to panic that this would affect their development as well as the obvious effect on the rest of us! We’ve tried lots of different nappy brands in our time, because with the many extra night feeds we were doing came the extra nappy changes in the night and sometimes they would wake up just because they were soaked – not what you need at 1 and 4am!!

Which is why I am so excited that Pampers are launching a brand new innovation and upgrade to UK parents’ #1 nappy choice: introducing 3 Absorbing Channels! New Pampers Baby-Dry feature a revolutionary nappy design with 3 Absorbing Channels and unique Micro Pearls™ that distribute wetness more evenly and lock it away for up to 12 hours. With less wet bulk in the morning, so your LO can wake up smiling! And, UK parents agree:

New Pampers Baby-Dry has been recommended by 88% of UK parents *

New Pampers Baby-Dry are also been BritMums Bloggers Approved, Mumsnet Rated, Mother & Baby Tried and Tested and 90% of Netmums mums would recommend New Pampers Baby-Dry.

With New Pampers Baby-Dry working as hard as possible, you’re LO can say goodbye to wet bulky nappy and hello to a dry night’s sleep.

Introducing New Pampers Baby-Dry!

To celebrate the launch of New Pampers Baby-Dry, Pampers are working with baby sleep expert Jo Tantum – who is a member of the Pampers Love, Sleep & Play panel and has 25 years’ experience helping hundreds of families to achieve a peaceful night’s sleep! (Could have done with a visit over the past 3 years, Jo!!) Jo has identified 5 sleep typologies that may help you to understand your baby’s sleep habits and needs better – so, is your little one a Starfish, Skylark, Sloth, Owl or Meerkat sleeper?

Introducing New Pampers Baby-Dry!

  • This is when your baby sleeps in the same position, on their back with legs and arms out. They also wake up often and regularly, but they don’t go back to sleep easily after you intervene with a sleep prop – which they need to get to sleep!

Jo’s Tip – A muslin square, knotted in the middle. Tuck it down your top before giving it to baby so it smells of you and comforts them. Also, try and teach your baby to fall asleep on their own gently. Start in the day, at nap times, watching for tired signs, then settle them for a sleep in their room.

Introducing New Pampers Baby-Dry!

  • These are the babies that wake up early in the morning, singing and shouting, and refuse to go back to sleep whatever you try!

Jo’s Tip – Wave sounds. This can be a sleep App or sound machine. Keep it on continually while baby is asleep, so when they come into a light sleep phase it soothes them back to sleep. Total blackout is also key – remember that babies can’t tell the time! They don’t know it’s 5am! If your baby wakes up early, try and respond to them as though it’s still night, rather than creating a habit of early waking.

Introducing New Pampers Baby-Dry!

  • These little ones love sleep and can sleep anywhere and everywhere – lucky you! But what happens when they wake up? You will know it’s going to be for a growth or developmental spurt or they are teething or not well.

Jo’s Tip – Increase feeding time by 5 minutes, if breast feeding and by 30ml if bottle feeding. If your baby is close to 6 months old, they may need weaning.

  • This is when your baby goes to bed late and then wakes up in the night. They’re wide awake for long periods and can’t get back to sleep!

Jo’s Tip – A Sleep Fest! Allow your baby to sleep for 3 hours during the day to reset their internal clock. Babies need lots of sleep and it’s a myth that if you don’t give them naps, they will be so tired that they’ll sleep through the night.

  • They stand up, move around trying to get comfortable all night and they don’t want to sleep. They’re late to bed and early to rise.

Jo’s Tip – Wind Down Time. Try bath-story-feed to establish a calming bedtime routine. Your baby is overtired and so they will thrash around trying to get comfortable just like we do. They will have lots of energy around bedtime and early in the morning, as their bodies and minds are overstimulated.

I’d love to know which one applies to your little one – let me know on social using #PampersBabyDry!

Last week I was thrilled to have been invited along to the Space NK store opening in Winchester. If you follow my YouTube channel I am sure you will know I am a total beauty & skincare addict so this was my idea of heaven!

The closest Space NK store to us is about an hour away so I am so pleased they have opened their stunning new store in Winchester, Hampshire. The building, once used for tea dances (cute), has been renovated to a beautiful standard and it lends itself perfectly to the luxury brands it houses. The original beams, low ceilings and period features really give it an authentic apothecary feel.

The store was full to the brim with my absolute favourite skincare and beauty brands. From NARS to Becca and Rodial through to Zelens. All brands which aren’t readily available on the high street.

As you may know, I love Sephora and have filmed a few hauls over on my channel. However being an overseas store, it’s not exactly easy to get my hands on things. I can’t tell you how pleased I am that I now have these amazing brands on my doorstep, and what’s more I can go in, talk through my needs, wants & wishes with expertly trained staff who will be able to personally help me find the right products. The staff don’t get sales based commission which really makes me feel like the advice and service they are giving me is what’s right for me and not because they have to push particular products out the door!

What’s more, if you want to try that super expensive serum, but you have really sensitive skin (like me) then you can take away a generous sized sample and test it out for a couple of weeks to make sure you’re not going to waste your money on something you skin doesn’t like or isn’t suitable for your needs.

I didn’t quite count how many ladies there were, but there were expert make up artists on hand to do full make overs if you so wish, or touch ups, test colours/specific looks out on you which would be amazing if you had no idea what you were doing when it came to make up, wanted to try out a new look, or even if you had a night out to get ready for!

I spent over an hour just browsing everything, I was oohing and ahhing at each shelf, one after the other. I can’t tell you how much I loved it. The store was so hotly anticipated that they had a queue of almost 100 people waiting patiently before they even managed to open the doors first thing! I’m glad I’m not the only totally obsessed skincare addict!

At the back of the store, beyond the skincare and make up, was a treasure trove of beautiful smelling goodies like luxury candles and Himalayan bath salts. Plus hair styling products and organic hand and body treatments from many brands I am yet to try. My wish list was already far too long and I have definitely increased my Christmas list 5 fold since my visit.

Have you visited the newly opened Space NK in Winchester? What did you think? What’s on your beauty wish list? I’d love to know!

Just when you think aden + anais couldn’t get any better, they go and launch a Disney collection! The special collection has been released to commemorate their 10th anniversary, and it’s all kinds of cute!!

I have long been a fan of their iconic cotton muslin products; from swaddles to dribble bibs, and the selection of prints they now have has increased dramatically even in the time I’ve been a Mummy. The quality is brilliant, and they wash so well. In fact, the more you wash them the softer they get!

Admittedly, I don’t need them for milky spillages any more, but they’re still perfect for snotty noses and teething dribble so we still make sure we always have one to hand. I love the original prints, with the simple classic designs, but some of my favourites are the newer style aden + anais prints like Vintage Circus and I’ve seen a peacock feather one which is soooo cool!

I really need to get George some more sleeping bags, as he’s growing out of all of his, so I will definitely be looking at some of the aden + anais ones as they are so soft against his skin and I swear he sleeps better when he’s in them!

Last week aden + anais held a launch party for their new Disney collection, with all the exciting new designs on show. It’s so hard to choose my favourite new design! What I do know though, is I have got to get myself (me, not the boys!! ha) one of their bamboo Dream Blankets. They are ridiculously soft, I want to just snuggle up under one!

The aden + anais signature muslins come in 3 iconic prints depicting three of the most popular stories: Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, and The Jungle Book. The designs are hand sketched too which is a really nice touch.

What’s your favourite Aden + Anais design? Take a look at the full Disney design collection at Natural Baby Shower, I’d love to know!

Funky Giraffe bibs have got to be right up there on the new mum wish lists, along with the Aden + Anais muslins and Frugi clothing.

I remember looking around a Baby Sensory class once (the first time around, y’know back when I actually had time to go to such groups) and seeing about 50% of the babies all wearing them, each with different designs. Easily recognisably as Funky Giraffe bibs. And rightly so; they are the best cotton bibs I have come across. They have a fleece backing which keeps dribble from soaking through (and man, is there a LOT of dribble) and the double poppers make them adjustable as your baby grows.

Not to mention the designs. Oh the designs. The time spent deliberating which prints to go for – there are so many options for both boys and girls. They also do bamboo bibs – SO soft, square bibs, fancy bibs, personalised, the list goes on.

Funky Giraffe

They make the perfect gift too, if you’re stuck for something to buy for a baby shower or present, I guarantee these will go down a treat with any parent of young children.

So now it’s competition time! I want to give you guys the chance to win SIX bibs – of your choice! With an additional winner who will win a 50% off discount code to use on whatever they wish on the Funky Giraffe site.

It’s super easy to enter; just click below! Good luck xx
