Dancing at bedtime with My VQ | Review

I’m just going to throw it out there, I am becoming obsessed with Disney songs. There, I said it!! Our latest tradition is dancing around the room at bedtime singing away to hits from the likes of Moana, Beauty and the Beast and Frozen. I’m not even ashamed! So I was thrilled when local Hampshire brand My VQ got in touch to see if I would like to feature one of their new DAB radios in a review – no more tinny phone speaker messing with our vocal performances each night!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first looked on their website, but I was so delighted when I saw just how sweet the new Emma Bridgewater designed DAB radios and speakers were. Taken from the iconic designs of the thoroughly british brand, they all had such an appeal and it was really tricky to decide which the boys would love the most.

Eventually I opted for the “Men at Work” print which features leatherette wrapped tractors and cars design with a sweet colour pallet which would work equally well in a nursery setting or even kitchen! The Retro Mini features DAB, DAB+ and FM radio reception which means we have access to the full range of digital and analogue services across the UK and Europe, as well as a simple process for setting up Bluetooth devices (I might just so happen to have a Disney playlist on my Spotify which made it’s way immediately through the speaker…) It also has pre-set channels which can be easily stored in the memory for quickly choosing favourite stations.

Even the quality of the packaging and sweet little note which came with it was a lovely surprise, I was so touched by these little features and it was especially nice to know that it was made just down the road in the Hampshire countryside. For now we just use it plugged in, but it’s totally portable with an additional battery pack which you can buy on the website for trips out to the beach or for picnics.

I soon realised that I couldn’t resist the other styles and decided to also get one for downstairs, and as it’s so portable I use it up in my office too when I’m working to keep me sane!

I love this simple yet stylish design made with real walnut wood and lovely leatherette handle. It would be great for a bedside too as it features a dual alarm clock with independent settings for week and weekends alongside an adjustable snooze, countdown and sleep timer. The dark walnut wood looks so pretty against the dark blue in the dining room.

The Emma Bridgewater “Retro Mini” design is £89.99 and the “Monty” is £99.99 and both are available to buy from My VQ here I hope you like this review, all opinions are mine.
