If you follow me over on my YouTube channel you’ll know how much of a beauty and skincare addict I am – I have suffered with spot prone skin ever since my teenage years, so I am always on the lookout for the best skincare products for problem skin, but sometimes it’s hard to know if an online store is reputable or stocking genuine products.
In 2017 Beauty Mailbox launched as a cosmeceutical retailer supplying some of the best names in skincare direct to your door – not only do they stock a handpicked range of beauty brands from Obagi to Healgel, but each product is expertly matched to what would work best for your skin type or concern. Over the past month I have been carefully testing a range of products uniquely catered to my skincare needs and I wanted to give you a run down of the items that have firmly made their way into my new beauty favourites for Spring.
New Beauty Favourites
I have an unfortunate combination of sensitive, acne-prone and oily skin. Throw in aging to the mix and you’ll understand that I’m forever trying to find the perfect products to deal with these various skin complaints. The Medik8 brand has a wealth of products for acne issues and aging. The Vitamin C Day Cream is a brand new formula for day use which has helped plump my skin by improving collagen levels and also has added hyaluronic acid to help with hydration. Adding Vitamin C to the skin really helps to slow free-radical damage and strengthen the skin.
As a Mum of 2 under 5 I drink a LOT of coffee…as well as enjoying a couple of glasses of red wine at the weekend. Over time my teeth have really suffered with discolouration and yellowing due to these heavy staining drinks and I have looked into many ways of whitening my teeth. I suffer with sensitive teeth too so I am always quite nervous to try heavy duty whitening products, so the Snow White toothpaste from Swiss Smile sounded like a great way of dipping my toe (teeth!) in the whitening water with it’s non-abrasive formula and highly effective optical brighteners giving an instant whitening effect. It also contains 0% SLS which is something I look out for in products. Keep an eye out on my YouTube for a before and after of my teeth!
You may remember that I got my eyebrows Microbladed last year, sadly they have now pretty much faded so I am back to having thin and very fair eyebrows and trying to decide whether to get them done again. In the meantime I have really been loving the results I’ve had with the Medik8 full lash and brow enhancer duo, they already feel thicker and more full – just a shame they are still so fair! I would definitely recommend it if you have sparse or thin eyebrows. I am yet to try the eyelash enhancer but if the results are anything like with the brow enhancer it should be just as brilliant.
The final product I have to try is the IS Clinical Active Serum which is designed to create an antioxidant-packed barrier over the surface of the skin whilst also containing hyaluronic to plump skin and a mix of Arbutin and Mushroom Extract which helps with skin pigmentation which I suffer with above my top lip during the summer. I am so excited to try this product, and see if it helps with breakouts with it’s clever decongestion exfoliation process, I am just making sure my skin is used to all of the other products before I use it as I have to be quite slow with the integration of new skincare, but I have heard some amazing things about it!
If you are looking for quality, cosmeceuticals I would definitely recommend trying out Beauty Mailbox, the delivery was really quick and the service was fab! I’d love to know what your skincare favourites are, leave me a comment below!
