Redesigning Our Living Room With A Pink And Blue Sofa

If you’ve been following me over on Instagram I’m sure you’ll have seen that we have been redesigning our living room following a rather stunning new addition to our home. Right at the end of last year we ordered a new sofa from Sofology and I was delighted when I got the call a few weeks ago that our custom made sofa was ready for delivery! It had taken us 3 visits to make sure we made the right choice; comfort, style and colour were our 3 main requirements that we were looking for but we couldn’t find the exact sofa which ticked all the boxes in store despite there being hundreds to choose from!! (What can I say, I *might* be a little but fussy!). However, the really helpful Sofologist explained that we could custom design the sofa we loved the style and comfort of, with the fabric and colour we loved – it was a match made in heaven!!

I had been lusting after a blue velvet sofa for a couple of years, but I never thought I would ever have a pink velvet sofa in my house – I am so thrilled with it!! We went with the Bella in a 4 seater and 2 seater (look how different it looks in the different fabrics and colours!) It’s actually really hard to photograph the blue one as it changes in different lights, but it really is so beautiful. We painted the back wall pink and removed our large gallery wall as I felt it took away the focus from the sofa, and I am on the look out for either 1 or 2 large pieces of artwork to compliment both sofas.

We’ve never had a footstool, but I love it! And the boys are huge fans! It’s a great extension to the seating options as well as giving us a comfortable position to lounge in on a Saturday night. We have so many seats for guests now which is great as our old corner sofa really only gave us 3 seats, unless we wanted to sit almost on top of each other – fine for us but maybe not when the in-laws popped in!

We went with the light wood feet with silver casters as they went best with the floor, sadly they didn’t have a gold option. But I just adore the style of the arms and the feet – and best of all we can extract any rogue toys – of which there are many – straight away from underneath as it is off of the floor! I love how the sofas compliment our current decor, but I feel like they bring a real grown up design to the room. I’m really looking forward to bringing touches of gold to accent the pink and blue and finding artwork to really set it all off.

I’m also looking for a large gold shelving unit to go in the corner between the 2 sofas (the previous corner sofa didn’t give this space.) and no doubt yet another plant to bring some natural decoration to the room.

We were absolutely thrilled with the whole process of choosing, ordering and receiving these gorgeous sofas and I was so impressed with Sofology from start to finish, you can read more about the store closest to us and my experiences in my previous blog post here. I can’t thank them enough for asking us to be involved in this review, I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a new sofa.

The pink sofa looks fantastic! I don’t have any experience with velvet sofas – how easy is it to clean them if you need to? x
