School Run Mum!

It’s official, I am a school run Mum!! Parker..check, Converse…check, multitude of bags…check! There’s no getting away from this essential Mum uniform when you become a school Mum! I’m no longer going to be winging it from day to day because we now HAVE to be at a certain place at a certain time and I know I can’t be late! As you may know, I have struggled with this transition of Henry starting school, but now that that dreaded first day has been and gone, I am actually really excited for everything he is going to be learning and experiencing.

So here we are, chained to this new routine. As much as it makes me sad, it is nice that each day we take the walk together as a family, taking the time to chat through anything and everything. Taking our time as we stroll along the winding path of this new life.

Parts of our walk are off road and it’s been really handy having our Baby Jogger City GT to strap George into as it’s built for rougher terrain with it’s sturdier wheels and strong suspension. It also means that whilst we are (inevitably) rushing to the school gate for 8.30am he is in one place and not exploring the wonders along the way at that excruciating toddler pace I’ve mentioned before!!

This is our first full week of school, little Georgie is going to be absolutely lost without Henry, as am I. We have a lot to get used to; packing the right bags, preparing lunches, leaving on time, getting drenched, school run chat, making new friends – for both of us! I actually posted a hacks video last week for anyone else who is looking to be more organised for the school run, I definitely have a lot to learn myself!

It’s the dawn of a new era and a lot of exciting times ahead. I hope if your little one is starting school this week everything goes well and they enjoy themselves! Good luck mummies and daddies!

Oh wow! Such a big step and we definitely feel ‘chained to the routine’ although it’s lovely to have a routine for all of us. I hope he’s loving school! x
