Well, Summer is well and truly on its way **cue a huge downpour** and for me that no longer means hours of relaxing in the garden or peaceful trips to the beach! However, it does mean a new wardrobe of summer clothes but this time on a budget. I thought I’d put together a little post for those of you looking for some ideas of what to buy to wear this summer.
Now, I tend to buy everything I like in the shops; which is neither good for my wardrobe space or my bank account (or Stuart’s I should say…) So if you’re looking to spruce up your style this season, or in general, without breaking the bank here’s some tips;
Try to buy key pieces such as a quality white shirt, great fitting pair of jeans (worst job ever but well worth the effort!) good shaped blazer, statement accessories and a decent pair of shoes/boots in the winter. This will create a perfect base, or capsule wardrobe which you can then add to with on trend pieces each season to update it.
Here’s a few seasonal looks I will certainly be investing in this year;
These are such an investment purchase. Mine are actually from Dune
last year but I will be wearing them summer after summer. A great shoe to dress up an outfit and no heels digging into the grass at those summer BBQ’s!
Brilliant for changing up an outfit from weekend to weekend. I love the pastel colours in this seasons ranges. Here’s a few of my collection with the latest on top right from New look
at just £7.99!
If you actually get a chance to get a tan, a pair of bright coloured shorts will show it off perfectly. Easy to throw on and pair with a plain top for effortless summer style.
My latest electric blue purchase are from H&M
at just £7.99 too!
Let’s be honest, more often than not when outfit planning during our summer is making sure you’ll be warm enough! I’m loving a cropped trouser at the moment, these blue print beauties are from Topshop
These are a wardrobe staple which you can pair with all of the above, a pencil skirt or just jeans and mix up your look by adding different accessories. wear over a strapless bra or bandeau to ensure no straps are on show. I picked up this blue one in the sale at Warehouse
for £10 last week.
I love this look. It’s great for a smarter style – think engagement garden party or Birthday BBQ. This is Asos
at £55; so slightly on the expensive side but this is a whole outfit don’t forget.
What are you loving this season? I’d love to add them to my list.
