You may have seen from my living room redecoration post recently that we’ve given our lounge a face lift and it was time to add in some finishing touches. Having completed the paint work and added in some new fixtures we decided to take down our gallery wall. As much as I loved the photos of our family and looking at all of our memories there upon the wall, it was a bit “busy” for our newly designed living space and I knew I wanted to hang some artwork that complimented our pink and blue theme, that was grown up and stylish but at the same time made a bold statement.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you will know that I am a huge fan of Desenio. I have so many of their amazing prints and posters around the house, my favourite gallery wall of prints being in my office, I knew that this is the place I would find the perfect art work for this space. I looked for hours through the site, if you’ve never been on I would definitely recommend it. They have everything you could think of, from motivational quotes to botanical prints – it’s easy to lose a couple of hours just browsing through them all. I took to their Instagram account for inspiration, I love seeing how the posters have been styled and it helped me invisage what they would look like in my own home.
I wanted to pick out the two main colours in the room – the pink and the blue. I had my eye on an oil painting effect print, but I knew I wanted 3 in a row and I could only find 2 complimentary prints in that style, so I kept looking. With gold accents all around our living room I was so pleased when I found a set of posters which not only had gold in them, but they featured the most perfect pink and blue – they were a match made in heaven and they immediately went into my basket.
The designs I chose were the Blue Gold, Abstract no. 3 and Blue Tide, I’m so so pleased with how they look in our living room, they have finished off the room perfectly. I love that Desenio also stock the suitable frames, meaning once my delivery arrived they were all ready to be put together and hung straight away. I went with the gold frames, naturally, and chose the large 50×70 size which was just right for the space in a formation of 3.
I’m thrilled with the final project and love that just by adding a few finishing touches it has really bought the whole room together.
