George, the cheekiest of chappies, you are two.
You came into our lives 2 years ago. Having waited 5 days from when you started your exit to when we finally got you out, meaning you were born on Henry’s Birthday, I knew from the start that you guys would be joined at the hip. You’ve been so different from your big brother, which is so lovely for us as your Mummy and Daddy because your individual personality shone out from the very beginning. You were so affectionate from early on, always coming in for a hug, for reassurance. 2 years on you are just as cuddly, which we just adore about you. We savour every cuddle, every kiss you offer and your cuteness never fails to make us coo over you.
George, your cheekiness is off the scale, you’re constantly doing what you are told not to, and pushing boundaries every minute! That look you give us when we tell you you’re not allowed to do something makes us laugh even though we’re supposed to tell you off! You do things your way and you answer to no one! I think we’re going to have a troublesome one on our hands.
You and Henry are the best of friends and you simply adore him. You copy everything he does, with your “what you can do I can do” attitude and you’re already looking out for each other in everything you do. Last month we decided to move you into the same bedroom because you would not go to bed without each other, you used to cry out because you had to leave Henry for the night! Now you are in the same room you can be heard giggling for hours on end; we’re hoping this will settle down once the excitement of sharing a superhero bedroom has calmed down. You still wake up first and go to bed last. Thankfully Henry is a really heavy sleeper!
You are a real chatterbox, although your speech isn’t that clear yet. But I always know what you’re trying to say as you cleverly do the actions or point to what you’re looking for and then we practice the words. You still nap at lunchtime, for around 1.5-2 hours and although sometimes you hate going down for it you still love your day time sleep. You are much more of a savoury food fan than your sweet toothed brother and you spend your days raiding the food cupboards or in the cutlery drawer!
George, your favourite things to watch are Ben & Holly and Peppa Pig when your brother lets you watch it – I think secretly he still loves the baby shows now and again too. You have no interest in the tablet yet and you love to be outside exploring, bubbles are a firm fave. You have only had 1 hair cut and that was to trim a tiny but at the back where it was about 2 inches longer than the rest! So far no curls like your big bro, but you’re still just as blonde. You definitely have Grandad’s colouring as you go brown just looking at the sun.
Happy Birthday to our sweet, cheeky, full of character, little boy. You completed our family as the final puzzle piece and life has never been better. Georgie, we love you.
I made this video to celebrate the past year and it’s been a total pleasure to put it all together. This is why I do YouTube, this is why I love to capture our memories and adventures. We love you.
