Here we are, in the depths of the British winter. This morning it took my 15 minutes to defrost my car, it was pitch black and by the time I had finished I was frozen solid. The summer seems a thing of the past, I’m still wondering how I spent so much money over the lead up to Christmas I’m still carrying some of that festive weight (but man was that cheese worth it!)
It’s no wonder the winter blues hit us hard and Blue Monday is a real thing!! BUT, there’s many things to be thankful for during this bleak mid-winter; I’ve managed to watch all of Sex Education in 3 sittings, without feeling guilty for not wanting to leave the house, I have spent an inordinate amount of time in my new Christmas PJ’s which, yes, are heavenly if you’re wondering, and I am really enjoying not spending any money during no-spend January and not having to feel guilty for turning down social events because everyone else is hibernating too!
I may joke that the struggle is real, however some people do suffer terribly with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) which is definitely not a thing to be taken lightly, so if you are feeling symptoms or feeling very low I urge you to contact a medical professional to get some help and advice.
