I don’t know if it’s getting older (and wiser, right??) or since I’ve become a Mum, but I am so much more considerate with what products I use on myself and my children these days. I’m also becoming so much more conscious of what impact the everyday products I use have on the environment. I love trying out new products and discovering new brands and I’m so pleased Seventh Generation got in touch to see if we wanted to put to the test their range of eco-friendly cleaning products.
We’ve spent quite a bit of time in the States over recent years and over there Seventh Generation is one of those brands which is just everywhere in the home and so widely used. It’s relatively new to the UK but I’m really pleased that the range is now available at Tesco.
I love how Seventh Generation have made such an effort to make their products more environmentally friendly with biodegradable formulas, plant-based ingredients, and avoiding dyes or synthetic fragrances. In fact, they’ve spent over 25 years formulating products made with plant-based ingredients that really work just as effectively as other, chemical based, cleaning products.
Both the boys suffered with sensitive and problem skin when they were babies, I still do now. I love that I can be confident that what I’m washing their bedsheets and clothes in is safe for their skin as well as being efficient enough to clean all those stains they seem to find themselves attracted to!!
I’d never really questioned it until recently, but why is washing detergent blue, to make things white?! Optical brighteners are synthetic chemicals that make fabrics appear to glow in the presence of ultraviolet light. They don’t get things clean — they’re only added to detergents to make us think our laundry is brighter and whiter. Did you know that by law companies don’t actually have to list what ingredients are in products?!
We’ve been particularly loving the lavender washing liquid and the surface spray. There’s a lavender and mint version of the washing up liquid that we have too, which I can’t wait to get my hands on!!
Seventh Generation products are USDA Certified Biobased 97%, Hypoallergenic, not tested on animals and they’re also safe for use around animals, all the while being just as good as regular cleaning products. Overall good eggs, I’m sure you’ll agree!
Thank you to Seventh Generation for sending us a bundle of their powerful plant-based cleaning solutions which are now available to buy at Tesco. in exchange for our honest review.
